Abstract:

Recent application of nano-technology in medicine and cancer therapy has generated a lot of interest in investigation of bio-nanofluid flow such as blood with nanoparticles. The thermophysical properties are necessary for flow and heat transfer study. Many researchers used water base fluid and nanoparticles for nanofluid flow and heat transfer investigation in microchannel. So they are used predicted thermo physical properties of water based nanofluid. To date there is no model for blood base nanofluid properties. The purpose of this study is introducing a new model for bio-nanofluid thermophysical properties. The model predicts the effective thermal conductivity, the effective viscosity and effective density of bio-nanofluid (blood with suspension of Al2O3 nanoparticles). Furthermore, the bio-nanofluid flow is investigated. The proposed model for the effective thermal conductivity is based on the Maxwell and W.Yu equations. Also the model uses the Einstein equation for prediction the effective viscosity of bio-nanofluid. A CFD code based on finite volume is used to solve the governing continuity and momentum equations. The proposed model agrees well with other researchers data. The simulation results show that thermophysical properties increase. But behavior of flow, velocity and pressure, is same for blood and bio-nanofluid.
