The role of water as a strategic commodity in the crisis management

Nowadays, water as a fundamental and strategic commodity plays a decisive role in economic and political relations in international relations. This issue is doubly important in the Middle East, especially among the countries around the Persian Gulf, due to the climatic conditions and the lack of fresh water resources. The possibility of a crisis in terms of water resources and even water war in the near future is not unexpected. In this study, by introducing the causes of the water crisis, solutions to deal with it are presented according to environmental conditions. The three factors of rapid population growth, dysfunctional agriculture and mismanagement are the most important causes of the water crisis. To address the issue of the water crisis, water must first be recognized as a vital and valuable commodity in the culture of the community and marketed in global markets.
