Abstract:
This experimental study was conducted in order to investigate the properties of self-consolidating concrete (SCC) containing microsilica (Ms) and nanosilica (Ns). Accordingly, five types of SCC mixes were made with a w/b ratio of 0.45 as well as different percentages of Ms and Ns. In this study, replacement ratios 10% of Ms and 1, 2, or 3% of Ns were considered. The obtained results revealed that the using of 10% Ms reduced the water penetration depth of the SCC up to 51% and increased the 28-day compressive strength of SCC by 16% compared to the control sample. Also, 2% Ns had the most impact on the water penetration depth and compressive strength of the SCC compared to other percentages of Ns. as result, applying 10% Ms has a higher effect on compressive strength and the water permeability compared to Ns.
