Abstract:
The adhesive bonded anchors are widely used in the rehabilitation and strengthening ofold or damaged concrete structures. These anchorage systems are most commonlyinstalled in a variety of sections, such as concrete slabs as well as concrete beams andcolumns. The behavior and failure modes of these anchorage systems are reliant onvarious parameters. Herein, the effects of vertical and horizontal steel reinforcementare studied using a set of 36 experiments. These experiments were conducted on 6concrete specimens similar to everyday reinforced concrete beams and columns. Theresults indicate that reinforcement increases the tensile capacity of adhesive bondedanchors only in group formations with deep embedment depths. Based on the testresults, various recommendations and suggestions are made.
