Abstract:

In this paper, different dimensions of time perspectives have been reported to be influential inlearners’ academic achievements, educational attainments and motivation. However, learners’willingness to associate in communicative contexts may also be related to their perceptions ontime. In the current study, participants aged 17 to 22 years (N= 250) completed measures of timeperspectives and willingness to communicate. Then correlation and regression analyses wereconducted to examine whether time perspectives and willingness to communicate were related toeach other. Results indicated that future time was positively correlated with learners’ willingnessand could predict it significantly. Moreover, present-fatalistic, and past-negative timeperspectives were negatively correlated with willingness to communicate among participants.The limitations and future directions are discussed.
