Abstract:

Diamante poetry is made of seven lines of words in the form of diamond. The poem is divided into two halves, of the upper and the lower. Two opposite ideas (usually nouns) come at the first and the last lines, and the remaining lines support those ideas using adjectives and verbs. Its form and content is so much interesting which encourage learners to recite and even create their own diamante poems. Discussing a large number of Diamante poems in the class expands learners’ knowledge of vocabularies with different parts of speech in variety of subjects. Moreover, students, inspired with the subjects, participate actively in oral communications.
