Cyberjaya has experienced major development since its formation in 1997. The city is located 40 km south of Kuala Lumpur. Two decades after its inception, Cyberjaya hasreached a tipping point, especially in sustainability and making and fostering an entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem. Cyberjaya’s contribution to Malaysia’s GDP is expected to reach 17% in 2020, while also delivering a GNI impact of RM 2.4 billion and creating 6,600 new jobs by propelling the city’s economic growth in nine technology areas. This paper examined the case of Cyberjaya as a new innovative city and how it is becoming a global technology and innovation hub, looking at its approaches, successes, and current situation in the context of innovation and technology.
