Failure Mode Analysis and Health Index Monitoring of Power Transformers in Combined Fault Condition

Transformers is one of the most expensive and most valuable electrical devices in the power system which is used to step up and step down the voltage & Transfer electrical power according the need of the customer. There is always mechanical, thermal or electrical stress generated during transformers operation which it causes a fault in the transformer, the source of the fault may lie in the design, manufacturing, material used, handling & site. Hence, The present paper proposes a novel approach to identify the combined Fault and estimate the health index power transformers in the combined fault condition. In this regards, a new transformer health index was formulated which considers different conditions of transformers. As a result, the proposed method provides the engineering solutions and asset management direction.
