Abstract:
This work attempts to develop a model using genetic algorithm to predict the flow stress of AZ52 magnesium alloy for hot compression deformation test conditions. The testing machine was capable of doing the experiments in position and load control modes. The experiments were performed under forming condition. For predicting the mechanical behavior of the alloy a two part model Genetic Algorithm was implicated. The GA model used in the present study can predict the mean load-displacement within an average error of 5% from the experimental data, using strain, strain rate and temperature as inputs.
