The present study considers dystopian concepts in the Indian-American novel, Ceremony by Leslie Marmon Silko.Ceremony is a speculative fiction, which narrates the story of a veteran after world war II, who suffers from the effectsof war. The novel depicts his effort to resolve mental, social, and personal problems. The theory of the study is based onthe ideas of M. Keith Booker, which cover his thoughts about dystopian literature. Silko’s fiction is about Indian peopleand their lives, traditions, and cultures. However, it also includes elements of modern dystopian novel. The authordepicts a modern dystopian universe full of injustice, poverty, hopelessness, and isolation for people. Like otherdystopian studies, present study aims to warn people about the destructive effects of war, discrimination, andenvironmental degradation.
