Abstract:

This paper concerns the problem of fault-tolerant control (FTC) based on fault estimation (FE) of multi-model systems in the presence of actuator and sensor faults in the face of modeling uncertainty and unknown external disturbances using T-S fuzzy modelling. As the FE and FTC controller has an uncertain bi-directional effect on one another, a new fuzzy adaptive observer- based FE is firstly proposed to reduce these so -called bi- directional uncertain effects. Secondly, the FTC is proposed to robustly stabilize the faulty fuzzy system. Then, the integrated observer-based robust control problem is solved via ∞ optimization with a single step linear matrix inequality. Finally, a tutorial example of a truck-trailer system indicates the validity of the integrated FE / FTC design.
