Abstract:
Microwave absorbers are important part in antenna and microwave laboratory which determines antenna and microwave truly exact and precise results. For this issue designing an absorber is a principal need in such labs. In this paper, a X-band (8 -12 GHz) pyramidal shaped absorbers is designed that made of urethane covered by carbon, that has 0.6 Siemens/m bulk conductivity and 0.3 dielectric loss tangent and a FSS made of an array of thin layer of copper patches deposited on a grounded dielectric. The design was compared between some designs and optimized by computer simulations using Ansoft HFSS software to calculate S11 and S12 parameters.
