Bio-renewable nature, high energy density and low toxicity of ethanol were our reasons to select ethanol as the fuel for low temperature alkaline fuel cells. It is important to explore advances Pd-based electrocatalysts with desired arrangement on suitable supporting materials. Therefore, preserving high dispersion and preventing leaching / aggregation, must be consider in place of on conventional supports. As well, the multi-valent cation compositions improve the redox ability of electrocatalysts through the redox cycle, which can be attributed to the increased oxygen release capacity. In this study, a facile co-precipitation method for the fabrication of well-dispersed SrCeCuO3+δ nano-composite was developed. The scanning electron microscopy of synthesized sample, showed an uniform structure with particle average particle size is about 50 nm. The elemental mapping proved considering dispersion of elements in each other which cause as-prepared sample have stable performance. Then, it was incorporated palladium and cobalt to the SrCeCuO3+δ in order to evaluation of components synergic effect. As-prepared Pd-Co-SrCeCuO3+δ electrocatalysts was assessed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (that exhibited that the three compounds are completely mixed and the morphology is almost uniform) and X-ray diffraction (that denoted synthesis was accomplished successfully without any impurity). Consequence, the catalytic activity of Co-SrCeCuO3+δ, Pd-SrCeCuO3+δ and Pd-Co-SrCeCuO3+δ electrocatalysts toward the oxidation of ethanol was evaluated using the cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The outcomes illustrated that the addition of SrCeCuO3+δ mixed metal oxide improved palladium and cobalt catalytic efficiency and enhanced the current density and transferred charge during the ethanol oxidation reaction.
