Abstract:

Force convection heat transfer due to its extensive application in engineering systems is one of the most important physical phenomena. Increasing efficiency and improving energy consumption in industries has always been a concern for researchers. The use of nano-fluid to increase the heat transfer rate is an inactive method. The use of nano-fluid as an operating fluid in the car radiator has important advantages such as increasing heat transfer, reducing corrosion, reducing the volume of radiator space, reducing fuel consumption, and increasing the life of the cooling system components In this study, the effect of the volume percentage of nanoparticles in the base fluid was investigated on the radiator heat transfer of the vehicle. For this purpose, an average vehicle speed of 90 km / s was considered, and a water-based fluid was used in a variety of different types of aluminum oxide and copper oxide nano-fluid for simulation.The results showed, the use of nanoparticles increases up to 50% of Nssult's number. 16% reduces the outlet temperature of the radiator. 3% increases friction coefficient and 2.7% increases pressure drop.
