Abstract:

Salinity is one of the important abiotic stresses limiting plant growth andlowering yield. Different ways are defined for managing the soil salinity problems.Four levels of rice husk biochar (BT) and municipal solid waste compost (MSWC)as ۱.۵% (w/w); BT, and MSWC and the mixture of these two (BMSWC) as of۰.۵BT×۰.۵MSWC% (w/w) and control with no amendment; A۰. Results showedthe BT treatment had negative effects on plant properties compared to the MSWCand BMSWC and about ۳۲% decreased of plant weight compared to the control. The MSWC, however, enhanced growth and caused an increase in the plant weight(۵%), and Chlorophyll by ۸%, while it inversely affected proline accumulationwith almost ۲۷%. The BMSWC had an average response to the two substances.
