Abstract:

During the installation of internal trays of the Urea reactor of LPC Fertilizer & Urea project in December 2019 in instalation stage of plant’s equipment, disbounding of the internal CRA liner (SAFUREX) from the outer carbon steel body of the reactor was detected in some portions like as a blistering phenomena. In some points this blistering height was about 20-30 mm, and caused major difficulties in instalation the internal trays of the reactor. An Engineering study and investigation started to determine the probable cause of this failure, and due correspondence with the manufacturer was followed simultaneously. This paper which is based on actual experience, briefly presents the study result and due proposed remedial repair procedure in accordance with the welknown ASME PCC-2-2015 Code.
