Abstract:

One of the ways to control corrosion is to use inhibitors. The main problems of chemical inhibitors can be mentioned expensive, toxic and environmentally incompatible. However, that green inhibitors are cost-effective due to the abundance of relevant natural resources, while at the same time being non-toxic and environmentally friendly. The purpose of this study was to Production and investigating the effect of (Multicolor-mixed) Alcea Flower new compound extract as a green and environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitor on st37 steel in 0.1 M HCL corrosive medium in an optimal and cost-effective manner. For this purpose, first the flowers extracted by the traditional method of macerationing (Fully optimized and cost-effective method), Then Corrosion studies were performed by polarization tests and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and then the specimens were studied by FT-IR test. Electrochemical studies showed that these material, as mixed inhibitor was reduced the corrosion rate by absorbing the surface of the metal and blocking active points. The highest inhibitory efficiency in corrosive environment of 0.1 M hydrochloric acid in the (Multicolor-mixed) Alcea Flower new compound extract was 92.4%. FT-IR analyze confirmed the formation of a complex between iron and active components of extract at the steel surface and it showed that extract created a protective layer on the steel surface. The results of the experiments show that they are not much different from each other and all the tests performed confirm the inhibitory effectiveness of this new green compound extract. Therefore, due to the combination of inhibitor and synergistic effect, it is introduced as a new green corrosion inhibitor on st37 steel in 0.1 M HCL corrosive medium.
