Abstract:
Wear is the damage to the material at the contact surface between two bodies that occurs due to the relative displacement between them and this leads to general problems in industrial applications. Also wear is one of the most important factors that are very effective the product service life. Wear is a complex process that depends on different factors like the properties of materials and their working conditions. Considering various factors, the wear process can be studied by experimental methods, numerical modeling and simulation methods. Experimental methods require equipment and are expensive and difficult to perform. Therefore, predicting wear is a necessity. In this paper, various theoretical models like Archard model and Energy model for wear prediction and wear simulation by finite element method are presented.
