Abstract:
The effect of microstructural characteristics and Si- and Fe-based eutectic structures on the mechanical properties and failure behavior of an Al-Si- Cu (ADC12) alloy are investigated. Cast ADC 12 alloy samples are produced using a die-casting technique and samples characterized with spark emission spectrometer (SES), Brinell hardness, optical microscopy, stereo microscopy and tensile test.
