Abstract:

we use earthquake focal mechanisms to estimate the current deformation in the northern part of collision zone between iranian plateau and eurasia. The study area has latitude of 35-42 and longitude of 46-59 and it was devided to seven zones mostly surrounded the south of caspian sea. to estimate the deformation we supposed double couple force system for each event and calculated the seismic strain tensor of events with mb>5 occurred in instrumental duration.
