Abstract:

One of the technologies that has been developed to reduce CO2 emissions from greenhouse gases is the use of CO2 as a carbon source. On the other hand, demand for light olefins, which are the main materials of the chemical and petrochemical industries is increasing. Direct production of light olefins by using CO2 hydrogenation process is one of the appropriate solutions, taking into account environmental and economic issues. This process requires bi-functional catalysts, the use of which leads to high selectivity for light olefins. Therefore, the purpose of this mini-review is to study the catalysts used in the last decades to investigate the selectivity of light olefins and the conversion of CO2, so that the best of them can be used as an example in future studies. According to our study, the ZnGa2O4/SAPO-34 catalyst has the highest selectivity (86%) with13% conversion of CO2 at 370°C and 3 MPa among other samples.
