خلاصه مقاله:
Background: The acute hormonal responses with regard to the modality of exercises aredifferent and play specific roles in the adaptation and recovery of athletes. The purpose of thisstudy was to compare hormonal responses between resistance (RE) and high intensity functionaltraining (HIFT) exercises in equal volume conditions. Methods: In a crossover mannerinterspersed with one week between each session, eight elite male wrestlers (21.2± 2.6 years,173.5±5.6 cm, 75.3±4.6 kg, and 14.7±1.5 % body fat) accomplished RE and HIFT sessions.Blood samples were taken before (PRE), immediately after (IP), and one hour after (1HP) eachexercise session. Results: No significant differences were observed in testosterone, growthhormone (GH), cortisol, and lactate concentrations at IP points between RE and HIFT (P>0.05).Moreover, no significant differences were found in responses of testosterone, GH, cortisol, and lactate concentrations at 1HP points between RE and HIFT (P>0.05). Only HIFT exerciseincreased serum insulin-like growth factor1 (IGF-1) concentrations at IP (p=0.01) and 1HP(p=0.002) points in comparison to PRE point. Analysis indicated that the responses of the IGF-1hormone at 1HP points significantly was greater in HIFT than RE (p=0.005). Conclusion: Ourfindings demonstrated in equal volume conditions; no differences existed in responses oftestosterone, cortisol, GH, and lactate concentrations between RE and HIFT. However, onlyHIFT exercise due to the explosive tempo of performing in exercise movements induced therecovery response of the IGF-1 hormone after exercise.
