Accelerating the treatment process and reducing nursing errors during the outbreak of the dangerous and contagious disease of Covid 19 is very important. To achieve this goal, the existence of virtual reality and augmented reality technology is essential. Therefore, researchers have emerged to identify the role and application of virtual reality and augmented reality in nursing during the outbreak of Covid disease. Methods: This research is an applied study that was conducted in 1399 by the review method. Using the keywords virtual reality augmented reality, nursing, and disease, Covid 19 has been searched in various databases such as PubMed, Science Direct and Scopus, and Google Scholar has also been searched for more information. In this search, the information extracted is for using virtual reality and augmented reality in nursing from 1997 to 2020 and the search for Covid 19 disease in 2020. Results: In this study, 4474 Persian and English articles were found, which were reviewed and separated after reviewing the articles in terms of impact factor and review articles. Moreover, out of 43 selected articles on the subject, 22 articles were included in the study according to the articles' title and abstract. The studies were conducted in 1399 and were conducted in the field of virtual reality and augmented reality in nursing during the Covid period. 2.51%, Singapore or 1.51%, US Disease Control with 2.67% were the most influential articles in this field. Most of the articles were in the field of VR role in health care, medicine, and nursing, and the least studies were done on the role and application of AR in nursing. Conclusion: According to the findings of this article, it was found that studies on the role of virtual reality and augmented reality in health and medical care in order to control pain, reduce pain, and error have been consistent. However, in the meantime, virtual reality has been used more than augmented reality in nursing.
