Abstract:

Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disease. In diabetes, dieting is essential. Telemedicine is an affordable and affordable method that can ensure adherence to this treatment plan. This study aimed to explain the role of telephone nursing in the care of diabetic patients. Methods: The present study is a review study conducted in 1399. The study was conducted using a search of various scientific sources, including PubMed, Sid, BMJ, Google Scholar, and other reputable databases between 2003 and 2019 and with the keywords telephone nursing, diabetes, chronic diseases, and quality of life. There was no time limit in this search. According to the type of study, some articles were included in the study, their information was extracted and entered in the checklist, and finally, it was used after review. Results: In this review study, the first 17 articles in Persian and English were found, which after reviewing, only 13 of them were used. In this study, we tried to investigate the role of telephone nursing in various aspects of diabetes,such as telephone follow-up on blood sugar control, diet adherence, improving the quality of life and self-efficacy of patients, reducing glycosylated hemoglobin and their function. All the findings of the study are in support of telephone nursing in various aspects of diabetes. Conclusion: Considering the forthcoming study and increasing diabetes in the world and proving the influential role of telephone nursing in various aspects of diabetes, such as lowering glycosylated hemoglobin, self-control of blood sugar, improving quality of life, and improving self-efficacy and adherence to diets, It is recommended that this communication technology be used to support diabetic patients.
