Abstract:

With the entry into the information age, the educational institution is one of the first institutions that has undergone fundamental changes, and e-learning is continuously and increasingly changing the educational environment or providing different learning contexts in the field of health. The development of new medical technologies has also challenged existing training systems to prepare nurses; Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the challenges of using e-learning for nurses.Methods: The present study is a review study conducted in 1399. In this article, research-related resources were searched in Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Scopus using the keywords Nurses, Tele education, Electronic Education, and Challenge and combining them using bowling operators. The study was limited to 2015 to 2020. It was conducted in July 2020, taking into account criteria such as the availability of the article's full text and the language of publication in Persian and English. Then, to check the quality of the collected articles, duplicate items were removed using Endnote software, and the relevant findings were entered in a pre-configured checklist for validation.Results: After searching the mentioned databases by studying the title and abstract, 50 articles were reviewed, and finally, 12 articles were included in the study. Findings showed that in the effectiveness of virtual learning (in all studies) and online education (in half of the studies) such as management development (5 studies), policy development (1 study), creating a suitable and comprehensive framework to increase efficiency (1 study), Improving performance in e-learning (4 studies), creating appropriate and user-friendly technology tools to improve the quality and continuity of education (3 studies), using information technology in the curriculum to improve e-learning performance (1 study), low budget and differences in Clinical education (1 study) exists as a challenge.Conclusion: Examining all the existing challenges in e-learning for nurses showed that the most important and fundamental challenge is developing an appropriate and comprehensive policy and framework in this field that will improve the performance of e-learning for nurses to improve its quality.
