The role of the nursing information system in the corona

Introduction: The nursing information system is a part of the hospital information system designed to help nurses provide adequate care to the patient. The operation of these systems leads to the integration of clinical data, improving the quality of nursing care, and meeting users' needs, especially during the outbreak of Coronavirus. However, the nursing information system has various dimensions. In this regard, the present study was conducted to determine the nursing information system's role during the outbreak of Coronavirus. Methods: This research is an applied study that was conducted in 1399 by the review method. Articles were found in various databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google scholar using the keywords Nursing, Nursing Information System, Corona Virus, Quid-19. There was a time limit on this search, and articles from the last five years were reviewed. Due to the type of study on the nursing information system's role during the Coronavirus, all articles related to the last two years, 2019-2020, were included in the study. The articles' information was extracted and entered in the checklist, and finally, the collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: In this study, 91 English articles were found, which were reviewed after reviewing ten articles. Studies conducted in 2019 to 2020 on the axes of the minimum set of nursing data in the corona period (4 articles), appropriate and comprehensive classification system (5 articles), systems support for clinical decision-making of coronation nursing (9 articles). Issues of confidentiality and security of patient information (7 articles) were addressed. Studies have shown that the nursing information system during the outbreak of Coronavirus in the field of improving nursing care (68%), supporting clinical decisions (78%) and recording the results of treatment in the coronary crisis (93%) with a survey of 3250 nurses are very useful on average out of 10 articles. Conclusion: According to the findings of this article, it was found that most studies in the field of systems support of clinical nursing decision making have been done in coronary conditions. Computer nursing information systems can meet nursing information needs, especially during the outbreak of Coronavirus. These systems help nurses organize information, improve workflow, execute the nursing process, improve nursing care, and manage data and information.
