Synthesis of thiopyranoindole derivatives in present of Nano Ni-MOF

Abstract:

Metal-organic frameworks or MOFs are porous compounds with special properties like controllability in terms of composition and structure coupled with high porosity.1 These catalysts are recyclable. Multi-component reactions (MCRs) are known as very powerful procedure in synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry for the preparation of the complex materials in a one step from simple starting materials.2 Thiopyran and fused-thiopyran derivatives are important classes of sulfur containing heterocycles because of their usefulness in accessing certain natural products 3. Besides, they have valuable antipsychotic, anti inflammatory4, antibacterial, anti-hyperplasia, and anticancer activities. Among the members of this family, thiopyranoindole-annulated analogs have found considerable utility as pharmaceutical agents demonstrating analgesic activity. Here, we report the synthesis of thiopyranoindole derivatives 4 from the reaction between thiooxindole 1, aldehydes 2 and malononitrile 3 in the presence of Nano Ni-MOF as a Nanocatalyst in EtOH under reflux condition. The synthesized catalyst was characterized by SEM, EDX, XRD and FT-IR.
