Abstract:
The design and synthesis of antimicrobial polymers have gained increasing attention regarding concerns on microbial infection and safety.1 Some of polymeric quaternary ammonium based on PVA have microbial properties and may be useful for many application such as biomedical devices, tissue engineering, wound dressing, surface coatings and additives for antifouling, paints and packaging containers.2,3 Now, we report a new synthesis of a polymeric compound using PVA, isoquinoline and (3-choloropropyl) trimethoxysilane (Fig1). Examining this polymeric compound indicate very good antibacterial ability against E.coli, and S. aureus
