Synthesis of 2-amino-4H-benzo[h]chromenes in the presence of Fe3O4/SiO2-APTES nanocatalyst

Abstract:
The use of environmentally benign, maintainable and efficiently reusable catalysts provides both economic and ecological advantages.1 Recycling of homogeneous catalysts is a main draw back in large-scale production of chemicals.2 Recently, nanoparticles have appeared as efficient catalysts and supports for the immobilization of homogeneous catalysts. 3-6 Herein, we report the synthesis of 2-amino-4H- benzo[h]chromene-3-carbonitrile 4 from the reaction between aromatic aldehyde 1, malononitrile 2 and 1-naphthol 3 in the presence of Fe3O4/SiO2-APTES catalyst. All synthesized compounds are stable solids whose structures were determined on the basis of their mass spectrum, 1H and 13C NMR and IR spectroscopic data.
