Abstract:

The rapidly growing phenomenon of video games, have raised concerns about the negative impact such games are reputed to have on youth. On the other hand recently interest in digital games indicated that it would be useful to update. Present systematic literature review of empirical evidence about the negative and positive impacts and outcomes of games. Since a large number of papers was identified in the period from 2005 to 2020, the current review focused on 90 papers that provided higher quality evidence about the outcomes of games. multidimensional analysis of games and their outcomes provided a useful framework for organizing the varied research in this area. Results indicate there are relationship Between video game genre and content, player time spent and personality with negative or positive prosocial outcomes also results show relationship Between video game genre and content, quality of game design mechanic or principles with children and adolescent critical thinking. Future research on digital games would benefit from a present empirical evidence based of experimental work, examining in detail which game features are most effective in enhancing children and adolescent critical thinking.
