Sperm Injection of immature oocyte or invitro maturation

The goal of this study to evaluate outcome of sperm injection in to the immature oocyte (metaphaseI) immediately or leave them to be matured into metaphase II then inject.Method and Material: Oocyte denudation was performed immediately after retrieval. Immature Oocytes were categorized into 2 groups: in the group I, intracytoplasmic injection (ICSI) was performed immediately after denudation, in the group II, oocyte cultured in vitro overnight and then ICSI done the next morning. Fertilization and cleavage rates were checked.Results : Although the fertilization rate in group I was lower than in groups II but no significant difference was found between groups (29 versus 34%; P > 0.05). The significant diversity didn’t seen in the cleavage rate between groups.Conclusion: in our study , sperm injection immediately or IVM maturation of immature oocyte has no effect on fertilization rate or cleavage rate.
