Abstract:

Background: basic hygiene principles and measures in public health crisis are vitallyimportant for developing effective control measures. this study aimed to identify the currentstatus of knowledge, attitude and practice regarding COVID-19 pandemic among residents ofSuburbs of Iran in to detect related associated sociodemographic variables.Methods :In this cross-sectional study, simple random sampling method and researchmeasurement tool was a researcher-made questionnaire consists of 20 questions, whose validityand reliability were assessed by experts (CVR=0/593, CVI=0/885). The demographics, meanknowledge, attitude, and practice of the participants were investigated, and the scores werecalculated liner regrration and ANOVA were used for statistical analysis.Results :238 questionnaires was completed. mean age 37.4 and standard deviation of16.1.%57.5 were female and 41.2 were male. 72% of the participants had very well knowledge.But 34.6% had good attitude and 24.6% had acceptable performance. 93.4 They followed socialdistance. 36.8 Percent washed their hands after each touch, 13.6 before meals, 16.2 beforetouching eyes and mouth. 58.2 percent obtained their information from television, 13.2 percentfrom television and social networks. based on ANOVA and liner model, There was a positiverelationship between knowledge and attitude and gender with behavior, which was the mostimportant relationship between attitude and behavior.Conclusion :in our study the association was seen between higher attitudes with higherpractice. Further implantation and encouragement from the government is required for thetransforming of these well-adjusted attitudes into suitable practice.
