Abstract:

Background: Solar Ultraviolet radiation type A leads to many skin disease. As workers suchas peasants and other ones whose job is in uncovered places has exposure with this radious, inthis study we aimed at measourment of the intensity of cosmic UV type A in palm-groves atwich workers gather date in the vicinity of Jiroft.Material and Methods: This is a descryptive-analitical cross-sectional study through wichdata were gathered from six different regions of Jiroft suburbs comprise of AnbarAbad, QalehGanj, Fariab, Jiroft, Roodbar and Blook randomly. According to the date harvest time, we didour study through July and September 2017. The Hagner Digital Radiometer (EC1 UV-A)instrument was used to evaluate the intensity of UV radiation and then data was compared withstandard tresholds advised by ACGIH. Moreover, altitude from sea level and latitude, elementswhich may have influence on UV radiation, were analysed.Result: Our study showed that the average of UV radiation in Jiroft palm-groves is around23.6 w/m2 . Moreover, besed on our findings all UV radiations exceed permissible rangeannounced by ACGIH during all work-hours except between 6-7 AM which is job start time(table2). However there was no significant correlation between UV-A and lattitude or heightfrom sea level. Conclusion: The range of UV-A, workers have exposure with during date-harvest is higherthan permissible range advised by ACGIH.
