Evaluation of clinical symptoms in Covid-19 patients: A hospital-based study in Yazd province

Abstract:

Introduction: December 2019, the world experienced the emergence of an unknownvirus. The disease has shown different symptoms at different times and places. The aimof this study was to evaluate the clinical symptoms of patients with Covid- 19in Yazdprovince.Material and Methods: This study is cross-sectional. The information of patients inhospitals of Yazd province has been used. Hospitalized patients were evaluated forvarious clinical symptoms. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data. Analysiswas used to analyze the data.Results: The mean age of patients was 67.44. The mean age of patients who died was82years. The results of this study showed that %50of hospitalized patients had earlysigns of fever, %48of early signs of cough, %47of decreased sense of taste, %28ofearly signs of muscle pain, %8of early signs of headache and %6of gastrointestinalsymptoms of nausea. Among the dead patients, %68had the initial sign of decreasedtaste, %41had the symptom of fever and %36the cough.Conclusions: Most patients and most of the dead were old person. The most commonsymptoms of the disease among patients were fever, cough and decreased sense of taste.
