In this paper, ion transport through bulk liquid membrane containing tributyl phosphate (TBP) as a carrierwas investigated. The effect of several parameters influencing the transport process such as type of solvent,type of receiving phase and its concentration was evaluated.The effect of solvent on ion transport was found to be in the order of kerosene > toluene. The performance oftetra sodium pyrophosphate and HCl as receiving phase was almost the same. The optimal ion transportconditions were determined by BLM using kerosene as solvent and Na4P2O7 as receiving phase (0.3M). Underthese conditions, the calcium concentration of the receiving phase obtained was about 0.057 mM.
