Abstract:

In this study, a bulk liquid membrane system containing Tributyl phosphate (TBP) as a carrier, kerosene asa solvent and HCl, HNO3 and Na4P2O7 as a receiving phase was studied for calcium ions transport. This workis based on investigating the feed phase characteristics affecting the transport efficiency, such as pH of feedphase, type of feed phase and its concentration. It was observed that in alkaline pH values, the transport ofcalcium is reduced. The type of feed phase had little effect. Also with increasing concentration of feed phase,the transport decreased. However, calcium transport by TBP is low and does not appear to be a good carrierfor calcium ions transport.
