This article describes the oxidation of alcohols and hydroquinones in acetonitrile using 2-Xylylene bis (triethylammonium) peroxodisulfate which has been prepared by mixing aqueous solution of 2-Xylylene bis (triethylammonium) bromide with an aqueous solution of potassium peroxodisulfate at room temperature.
