Abstract:
Given the importance of seismic performance of flexural joints and the problems and difficulties associated with the implementation of this type of connection, providing an efficient and correct plan for their reinforcement will be a significant help to eliminate it’s problems.Steel bending frames are designed in such a way that they can waste a lot of energy due to flow and plastic deformation.Reconstructed structures of the Northridge earthquake in ۱۹۹۴ showed that brittle ruptures occurred in the area where the beam was connected to the column. In this paper, the connection of the welded, welded wing reinforced in the beam connection of the boxes to the column in the steel bending frame is examined and after analyzing the simulated results, it’s effect on the bearing capacity of the equivalentload is shown. Abacus nonlinear finite element software has been used to investigate the cyclic behavior of this connection.
