خلاصه مقاله:
In this work, the major steps for seal efficiency study in any period of a hydrocarbon reservoir life are presented which have not been deliberated before. Also a field case of argillaceous limestone overlying the Main Ilam Reservoir in SW of Iran is studied and imperative deliberations related to the future fluid injections are discussed. The results show that a thin argillaceous limestone is able to block an oil column of more than ۴۰۰ meters. Moreover, based on some criteria it is probable that this field case contains perched water which may be misunderstood with the regional Free Water Level. This study demonstrates that the seal efficiency analysis is a robust tool for integrated reservoir and geology studies and is recommended to be performed before field development. Also, this study shows that in the case of fluid injection in the reservoir for EOR purposes, in order to avoid any environmental risks, the study of the neighboring structures/fields is crucial
