Abstract:

In the ۲۱st century, water polluted by heavy metals is one of the main environmental problems. Various methods for removing heavy metal ions from water have been studied. Biotechnology is a science that has come to our aid using green chemistry. In this article, we investigate the removal of the toxic element tungsten from textile effluents by iron oxide nanoparticles. These nanoparticles are synthesized by bacteria. They are able to produce metal nanoparticles and Nano structure via reducing enzyme intracellularly or extracellularly. Iron oxide nanoparticles are one of the known adsorbents used to remove toxic elements. The effect of pH, kinetics and isotherm parameters on tungsten element removal was investigated. The results showed that in ۵۰ ml of tungsten salt solution with a concentration of ۱۰۰ ppb and an amount of ۰.۰۱ of Fe۳O۴ nanoparticles, maximum tungsten adsorption occurs within ۹۰ minutes at pH = ۹. Under the mentioned optimal conditions, %۷۰ of the toxic element tungsten was removed.
