Abstract:

Mindfulness training is an effective method for lowering stress and negative thoughts. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of mindfulness training on Life satisfaction and Early maladaptive schemas in female students .This research was conducted as a semi-experimental research using pre-test post-test design with a control group. The sample consisted of ۳۰ students (۱۵ participants for each of the experimental and control groups) who were selected by cluster random sampling method. Participants in the experimental groups received mindfulness training for ۱۰ sessions, while the control group did not receive any training. At the end of the training a post-test was taken from both groups. The instrument used in this study was Hubner Life Satisfaction Questionnaire (۲۰۰۱) and short form Young Schema questionnaire (۲۰۰۳). Multivariate covariance analysis was used to investigate the research hypotheses. The results indicated that mindfulness training significantly improved Life satisfaction (p<۰.۰۵) and decreased Early maladaptive schemas (p<۰.۰۵) . According to the results of this study, mindfulness training is effective in increasing Life satisfaction and reducing maladaptive mental schemas, so providing this training is evaluated as useful for students.
