Abstract:

Introduction : Duck syndrome is a mental disorder that is seen widely among students and graduates Although The affected indivisual may seem quite calm and peaceful but is struggling to deal with his problem .In fact, patients suffering from this syndrome are the ones who are constantly trying to share a happy cheerful image of themselves on social media while having hard times in real life. The purpose of this survey is identifying and screening HUMS students suffering from the syndrome explained above .Method and Materials: A descriptive-analytical sectional study using an online questionnaire which was answered by ۴۵۰ random HUMS students contained questions about the symptoms of duck syndrome. The validity of the questionnaire has been evaluated and confirmed in terms of content and using factor analysis. The Krubach test was used to test the hypotheses .Finding: Studies showed that ۸۷% of people with Duck Syndrome were most of the time quite happy also completely calm and happy on the outside but not relaxed on the inside. And most of the time they shared images of their happy moments on the social media and in the remaining ۱۳%, no symptoms were seen i.Conclusion: The results showed that duck syndrome is seen in most students of HUMS. This study suggests that by holding introductory sessions for juniors and rookies and teaching them management techniques can be quite effective in preventing the syndrome. The most intelligent way for universities may be focusing on students who are prone to duck syndrome; For instance, those who do not tend to participate in programs and activities. It is best to assure students that they can use tutoring services and are not going to carry their burden by themselves.
