Abstract:

The shell of buildings in the design of spaces can play an effective role in reducing energy consumption, therefore, the design of an efficient shell in buildings can be very effective in order to minimize heat loss in winter and heat absorption in summer. With the advancement of technology, There has been a debate about smart buildings in recent years. The Double Skin Facades are notable as a suitable solution to achieve this goal. In addition to increasing thermal and visual comfort in the building, these facades significantly reduce energy consumption. the term double skin facade is basically the idea of flexible facade with intelligent control. In optimal energy consumption and thus saving and optimizing energy consumption . Building smart is a way to extend the useful life of buildings, make residents comfortable, save energy, and achieve sustainable development goals. With intelligent systems, air conditioning, filtering and climate control it is possible to use these systems to reduce energy consumption in the building and reduce the cost of building maintenance. In this regard, it is essential to use smart materials that are integral to the intelligent building that interact with the environment. In this paper, we have attempted to introduce a system using library studies and a descriptive-analytic method by first defining the double shell system, the history and purposes of designing this system and its variants, and finally by describing the advantages and disadvantages of using these types of shells. Let's discuss and evaluate how to use the double shell.
