Abstract:

Introduction: Paying attention to sex is an essential component of health care standards. Given the specific effects that pregnancy has on the health of the individual and the family, it is necessary to consider the factors that affect this period.Methods:The present study was a cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study in which the sexual function of ۱۰۰ pregnant women in different trimesters of pregnancy in Ardabil city was investigated. Data were collected using a two-part questionnaire including demographic information and FSFI sexual function questionnaire. The test-retest method was used to determine the reliability of the tool. The data were compared with each other and its correlation coefficient was retested at two weeks intervals of ۰.۹۳ and ۰.۹۵. The questionnaires were completed by the mothers themselves who had the characteristics of the research units individually. Data were analyzed using SPSS ۱۸ software and one-way ANOVA and Pearson correlation tests at the significant level p <۰.۰۵.Results: In the present study, the overall sexual function of pregnant women indicated that ۳۶.۴% of women with normal sexual function, ۱۵.۲% with mild disorder, ۲۷.۳% with moderate disorder and ۲۱.۱% have severe sexual dysfunction during pregnancy. The components of sexual function status in the trimesters of pregnancy were also examined. In the first trimester of pregnancy, severe sexual desire disorder was observed in ۱۰% of the samples, with the most prevalence being lubrication in ۳۳.۳% of cases. The status of sexual function components in the second trimester of pregnancy indicated that ۱۸.۲% of pregnant women had severe disorder, the most common disorder in this quarter was pain in ۲۴.۲% of pregnant women.هThe sexual function components in the third trimester were also in ۲۴.۳% of the cases was pain.Conclusion:To reduce the rate of sexual dysfunction and to provide greater mental and psychological comfort to the mother and her spouse, offering sex education classes and courses with a special approach to pregnancy, during the provision of prenatal health services and care. Health care professionals, especially midwifery professionals, are a must.
