Abstract:
In this paper, a fiber optic biosensor based on the surface Plasmon resonance using platinum and tellurium oxide nanocomposite is theoretically investigated. The optical transmission spectra is calculated numerically. The obtained results show that the resonant wavelength occurs in the near-infrared region (about ۸۰۰-۹۰۰ nm). The behavior and sensitivity of the sensor are investigated for the different thicknesses of nanocomposite layer and different values of volume filling factor. The numerical results show that if the sensor is placed in water, the resonant wavelength and the sensitivity of the biosensor will increase for thicker nanocomposite layers and larger values of volume filling factors. Besides that, the detection accuracy and the figure of merit of the biosensor is larger for thicker nanocomposite layer. Therefore, this proposed structure can show good sensitivity in the water (as a bio sensing media) in the near-infrared region.
