Abstract:
Brain tumors are among the deadliest cancers and the most challenging ones to treat. Gliomas are the most invasive brain tumors. Predicting the growth behavior of tumors under different circumstances can help the physician to choose the best program for the treatment. In this work, we use a Galerkin meshfree technique along with the Cartesian transformation method to simulate brain tumor growth under the effect of radiotherapy. The reaction-diffusion model is considered as the governing equation and the effect of radiotherapy is modeled by the linear quadratic model (LQ). The simulation is based on clinical data and for verification of the obtained results a comparison with the finite element analysis is presented
