Abstract:

In this research, thermally induced response on a folded beam under thermal shock is analyzed. First-order shear deformation theory is utilized to obtain the displacement field of structure. At first, the uncoupled energy equation is solved within the beam thickness. To perform this solution, generalized differential quadrature (GDQ) method associate Crank-Nicolson technique are implemented. After extracting the temperature profile along the time and structure thickness, the thermal force and moment are derived and applied into the motion equations. Then, the motion equations are extracted by the Hamilton principle. Also, they are solved exploiting the generalized differential quadrature element (GDQE) method and Newmark time marching approach. Some parametric examples are indicated to analyze the geometrical factors effect on the folded beam under rapid heating
