Controlling of car’s speed with using of fuzzy algorithm

Vehicle speed monitoring is one of the most important challenges in countries, with the increase of urban life in cities, human population and the number of vehicles has increased significantly. High-speed cars are also known to be a major cause of accidents in the world. Therefore, speed control of vehicles is of special importance. The purpose of this article is to detect the speed of moving vehicles using image processing algorithms. This approach is done in three main steps: first we extract the background using the Gaussian method for each frame, then we identify the location of the vehicle in each frame. Finally, we have obtained the speed of the car by calculating the amount of movement of the car in each frame. In calculating the speed we consider only the frames that are in the ROI. The accuracy of the written program is evaluated by comparing the speed obtained by the program and the actual speed of the vehicles announced by the traffic speedometer. The accuracy of this program is ۹۳% and it should be noted that all the videos have been collected from East Azarbaijan province, the speed of which has been announced by the traffic police of this city.
