Abstract:
Ni–Co/SiC-CeO۲ nanocomposite coatings were prepared on copper substrate using pulse electrodeposition methods. The effect of current density as a parameter of electrodeposition process have been investigated on properties of Ni–Co/SiC-CeO۲ nanocomposite coating. The characterization of the coatings was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Vicker’s microhardness test and potentiostat galvanic methods. The results showed that with increasing the current density from ۰.۱ to ۰.۳ A .cm−۲, the grain size of the coatings decreased and the microhardness of the coatings increased. Increasing the corrosion resistance of the coatings with increasing the current density could be attributed to their lower crystal size
