Abstract:
Dynamic Economic Dispatch (DED) problem is consequential in power system operation, which is a complicated non-smooth constrained optimization problem. It has nonlinear and non-convex characteristics when generator valve-point effects are considered. This paper suggests a new technique for solving DED taking into account valve point effect and constraints as an example of ramp-rate limit and load generation balance by General Algebraic Modelling System (GAMS) software. The optimization problem uses nonlinear programming with discontinuous derivatives (DNLP) as a solution procedure. The capability of being achieved and the impressiveness of the recommended software are explained putting to use it to some examples and the test consequence are compared with those of other techniques presented in the literature. It can be seen that the presented software has able to producing higher-quality result both in answers and time.
